Boys Should Be Vaccinated Against HPV Too!

First I should say that I am not an HPV expert, I am just a woman who lived through 3b Cervical Cancer. I am just a woman who wants to educate others about Cervical Cancer and how to avoid its devastation. I am not here to argue or debate just to put out information for you to read. If you disagree with an article or idea please feel free to leave a comment but seriously, don't be a jackass about it! This is an open forum and I appreciate all opinions but if people start being mean, aggressive or antagonize I won't stand for it! I don't think anyone has all the information regarding HPV and Cervical Cancer and if they did we wouldn't have young woman dying from it!

Here is an article about why Boys should be getting the HPV vaccine as well. If you are interested in learning more about why experts are saying your sons should get the vaccine as well please read the article:

I was told by the nurse practitioner at my gynecologist...that mothers can pass HPV to there sons during the birth...and those boys can give it to their partner.

You are so right! I had never thought about this. I am a medical provider (Emergency Medicine PA) and it makes perfect sense to vaccinate boys too. Although I am never the first to use a new medical treatment, once proven safe, this would be so much more effective. It would eliminate the Vector! It is the asymptomatic carrier that spreads HPV. Prevent the carrying of the virus and you have prevented the disease! Spread the word!
God Bless!

This was very informative. My daughter received her shots last year after I had to have a hysterectomy at just 36. I don't want to lax on her health ever.

Considering I gave birth to my son having HPV and Cervical Cancer (Diagnosised when I was 5 months pregnant with him and having a total hysto within months of his delivery) I want to do all I can to protect his future. Reading that article and it saying he is now a carrier it scares me to death that he has the potential to give this devestating disease to anyone he choses to have unprotected sex with - including his potential wife who then would give birth to a potential son also being a carrier. I want to stomp my feet and MAKE there a vaccine for boys available RIGHT NOW!

I was proactive for my daughters health she finished her HPV series last month. I hear about so many parents decided not to vaccinate there kids. Too many people have died from Cervical Cancer. Had my own scare a few years ago. My daughter has thanked me many times that for doing it.I didn't know that boys should get it until now thanks. I saw the other side of Cervical Cancer when I worked as a Nursing Assitant. I saw a mother blame herself for having Cervical Cancer. It was heartbreaking as her 6 kids sat bedside knowing Mom was going to die. The kids were only stair steps and only had Grandma.

I'm pretty monogamous. So does that mean I am straight and won't get the Pavlov's..I mean the HPV virus? And if that is the case then there is no need to get the shot. :)

Furthermore how do we know pharmaceuticals are not cashing in on this? I heard that lobbyist wanted to pass a law in Illinois to make it mandatory for all girls to get the shot. But they lost. If prevention depends on moral behavior people need to be just a little bit more responsible with their sexual actions.

By the way does oral sex cause throat cancer for either man or woman? Does any one know? I'm just curious. Seriously.
