Vice Presidential Debate & Health Care

I try not to get too much into politics on my blog. However, for obvious reasons, health care is something that is very important to me. I was surprised and disappointing that Health Care was not a focus during last nights debate. Our Nations Health Care System is in crisis. There are too many people without health care, unable to get the proper treatments, prescriptions and over all care.

There are so many of us who have fought cancer, too many. We all have voices. And, for those of you who are fortunate to not have any health issues there is always the possibility and you want to be sure that if you need a solid health care system its there. "I have Health Insurance" you say?? Well I hate to be the barrier of bad news, I did too. Insurance companies will do whatever they can in order to not pay you! They don't care about you at all.

Lets tell Washington that Health Care is important to us. That we are voters who need to hear what both parties plan on doing to fix our broken health care system!

I didn't get to watch entire debate. I did record it though.
Bill Clinton spoke on Obama's behalf the other day on health care. I didn't hear all that either cause I had it on in the classroom and the kids were being real loud!

Thanks for stopping by! Health Care is a big issue with me as well for I have a preexisting condition...a major scare regarding cervical cancer, too.

Congrats to you for kicking Cancer's Ass! You are an inspiration!

We have been blessed. Our insureance, even though we still paid a nice size deducable, has been wonderful. We are soon going into our first year of cancer fighting and am so thankful, whether we pay alot to still have insurance. Some is better than none I always say.

AMEN, sister! I completely agree. I have health care but I already know how the insurance companies try to get out of EVERYTHING!

I hope it all for us - for the sake of the country!!

Absolutely. I also don't like to get political in blogland but this is such an important issue. I'm still paying off debt from the ONE month that XH was disqualified from his union insurance and DD went to the hospital for something minor. Over 5k...craziness! Imagine if it had been the whole year? Year after year?

I was very fortunate to have a good health care plan when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. But even with that plan, we plowed through our savings. My portion on the doctors, surgeries, chemo, radiation, hospitals....was still about $14,000. Not to mention the six months I took off work, at a reduced salary. I cannot imagine if we had no health care. We would have been wiped out.

hey cutie!
i had the chance to watch the whole debate in the US (came back to Germany on oct.4th) it really made me upset to see mrs.palin talking about so many things she seems to not have a clue about ("the US is the country that cares the most about climate change" - lol- just to mention one!)
i still have obama's words in my mind he said a couple of weeks ago, that he really wants to have a healt insurance in the US that COVERS EVERYBODY no matter if employed or not!
it CAN'T be that a country like the US isn't able to have that!
ova here in Germany the health insurance doesnt depend on ur job. no matter if ur employed or not you will ALWAYS be covered and the health insurance will pay for the same things no matter if u got a job or not.
i cant believe that there are ppl out there who have to be scared to die only cuz they are not covered and cant afford a doctor or surgery!
i REALLY DO HOPE for ALL the ppl in the US that the next president WILL CHANGE something about that!!!!!
greets+hugs from Germany
