Pay It Forward Giveaway

I just won an amazing prize prize from Grand Pooba! I entered into her Pay It Forward contest last week and won :) Part of the Pay It Forward contest rules says I must Pay It Forward by doing my own giveaway! So here it is:

I am giving away 1 lb of gourmet coffee from my new online coffee shop Get The Bean...you get to pick the flavor. Just so there is no confusion this is a totally separate giveaway from the one going on at our Get The Bean Blog. If you want to enter that giveaway you have to do it on that blog...This one is just for the Pay It Forward contest!

Here are the rules:

* To enter the contest you need to leave a comment on this blog entry telling me one act of kindness that you have done for someone else, or that someone else has done for you.

* To enter a second time you need to mention this giveaway on your blog and then leave a comment here just to state that you did so. This will give you a better chance at winning!

* You have until Friday morning (Oct. 31th) at 11:00 am Eastern Time to enter the contest at which point a winner will be selected at random from the commentors.

* If you are the winner, you must then send me your mailing information and promise to "Pay It Forward" and have a giveaway of your own.

* Anonymous commenters (Those without a Google and/or Blog account) can play too as long as you give your name and either post your email address with your comment or email it to me at megse5@netscape.net

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog during the SITS blogathon! I can't wait to poke around your site. An act of kindness bestowed upon me happen back in February of this year. We were in the midst of a blizzard. I had just picked my son up early from daycare and my car got stuck in the snow in an intersection. My tires were spinning, I was going nowhere, and there were cars coming at me. No one stopped to help me... until a woman in a minivan hopped out of her car, and gave me a push. Talk about girl power. She saved me that day, and I can't thank her enough. I love your blog so far and look forward to reading more.

I have a older lady that lives next to us. During Gustav we went and checked on her to make sure she was o.k and told her if she needed anything to call. My son is at her house all the time now helping her take care of her dog. I'm just a kind person I will help anybody.

Much Love

Hey, cool idea!
So something nice huh? My friend offered to babysit my little girl the other day when I had a photo shoot to do. It was really nice of her to offer, cus I didn't have someone to take her. It made my day, and made the shoot much easier!

I'm gonna post about this on my private blog! (Promise!)

I am on a big coffee kick so this sounds great!
The act of kindness that pops into my mind, is buying diapers for a girl who posted a request for them on freecycle...a young mom who was having a rough time.

I mentioned your contest on my blog, and gave you an award, too. (not sucking up, I swear, LOL)

What a great giveaway! Congrats on beating cancer. That's awesome!!

Acts of kindness, my Mom is taking my son for 2 weeks while we are in China getting our little girl. And the coffee would be for her - she loves coffee!

I made a sling for a new Mom that didn't have the funds. We Moms got to stick together, right!! :-)

I'm so in on trying for some free coffee:-).

When Jack (my dog) and I were about to head out to an SPCA fundraiser, a little beagle wondered into our yard. It clearly was someone's pet and had gotten away & I couldn't just leave it running around, so we brought it with us. My first experience ever walking two dogs at once was at a dog walk with about 500 other dogs around. Talk about trial by fire! Anyhow, the dog walk went great and the next morning I hung fliers up around town and set up an email account for people to respond to if they knew who's dog it was. Got an email that afternoon. Turns out the dog was named Precious & she was a little escape artist who could climb chain-link fences. She lives the next street over. Jack & I walked her home that evening.

Hi!
Here's my contest entry and my little story:
Just yesterday my husband and I helped a friend move. While this is relatively common practice - this was a special circumstance. L's husband left her after 18 years of marriage, leaving her shocked and devastated and with all the crappy and heavy furniture. She had literally no one to help her move. So, barely knowing her but just feeling in our hearts this was the right thing to do - we offered our Saturday morning to her. We agreed ahead of time that we would accept no pay for this, just for her to one day "pay it forward" in her own way.

Today I'm very sore and very tired. But, I feel GREAT!

Hello, I saw your blot at SITS and thought I'd stop by.

An act of kindness that someone did for me was from a stranger. Greg, my fiance, was in a head on car accident. A stranger stopped, got out of his vehicle in the rain, down the side of the road where Greg's vehicle was thrown off of into the marsh.. the stranger got my number from Greg and called me on his own cell phone. He told me where Greg was and stayed with me on the phone for an hour until the ambulance determined where to take Greg. It took them 45 minutes to get him out of the car and all this time, Alvin (the stranger) stayed on the phone, he was my angel of calm. One day I can only hope to give that same kindness to a stranger in need.

I keep change in my pockets at work...I always have children ask me for money for lunch. I usually hand out between $3-$5 a week. The won't get to eat if they don't have all their money!

Great giveaway idea! My best friend recently kept my girls for an entire day when I was recovering from being sick and needed some sleep! I wish I could help her with kids, but she does not have any yet!!

i was in line this weekend to pick up a uhaul truck. i had a horrible headache. the uhaul store had a display of tylenol and advil. i asked if they had excedrin, the quickest pill to get rid of a headache. the woman behind the counter said no. a woman behind us in line said she had some, and would i like to take two? i almost said no because i didn't want to impose. but i said yes. and she saved my head, my sanity, my sister's well being, and made what could have been a terrible moving day a really good one. well, aside from all those fecking stairs.

haha!! my verification word is "treat"!! :)

I kindly let everyone know about a bunch of giveaways. Including this one.

Seriously though...my mom. My mom is constantly doing random acts of kindness for me and my kids. From picking up groceries at Costco to watching my babies so D and I can go away for the weekend. She even brings me soup when I'm sick still. She's an angel.

After a work meeting last week we had a lot of leftover food. So I called a local shelter for women and children and offered to bring it to them. They were so excited. I dropped off the food just in time for lunch. They were so grateful and it just made me smile to know that they didn't have to worry about lunch that day.

Wow! I jsut happened upon your blog and love that you have one about being a cancer survivor! It makes me smile to see someone get a second chance...God must have some big plans for you!

Something nice someone did for me...

When I was having a difficult pregnancy and later a difficult delivery, my friends brought us meals - for 2 months! Truly, I did not cook for 2 months - and we ate well. *wink*

We were also moving into our house at the same time - silly, I know. The guys helped my husband move the stuff and all the gals unpacked and organized. By 4pm we were moved in and everything was in it's spot.

What a great bunch of friends we have!
