Boy Do I Have Something Unique For You

Okay I'm not sure if you are going to love this or hate it. For sure you are going to think this is a little weird, I know I do. While driving to school yesterday I heard about it on NPR and thought, "how can I not share this with my friends"

Today at 4pm you can actually watch a hysterectomy being performed. Apparently there is this new Robot-Assisted Hysterectomy. This new way of performing a hysterectomy is minimally invasive and provides quicker recovery for patients. South Miami Baptist uses this procedure and has decided to allow the world watch.

I thought this was pretty appropriate for my site because many women who have cervical cancer get hysterectomies. I did not have a hysterectomy however many of the women I have met and talked with have. The hysterectomy is a very invasive surgery and recovery can be long and painful. This new procedure could dramatically change all that.

If you would like to read more about the Robot-Assisted Hysterectomy click: HERE

If you want to watch the recorded webcast of the procedure \click: HERE

I will be watching and would love to hear what others who watch think. If you think this is just too out there let me know, I'm still on the fence on that one but how can i not just take a peak ;)

GROSS!

Why are you people so blind? Hysterectomy is female sterilization and hospitals, doctors, insurance companies make so much money off of women in this way! Do you not realize if have a full hysterectomy (everything taken out) you will lose an important enzyme that protects your heart from heart disease?

USE NATURAL PROGESTERONE CREAM! Arbonne has a fantastic NPC that has helped SO many women get balanced and AVOID hysterectomies. I ENCOURAGE everyone to check it out and find a consultant in their area. I hate knowing people making profits off of women.

"I hate knowing people making profits off of women." --LG, what do you think Arbonne is doing?

i do not appreciate you calling me "blind" because of my opinion on hysterectomy based on years and years of chronic pain from the hormones released by my ovaries

Some women do not have the choice! Cervical Cancer can be treated with Chemo and Radiation but sometimes hysterectomies are necessary.

And, we should respect a woman's choice to have a hysterectomy! Women are smart enough to research all options and then make a choice.

And...I agree with Dr. Wifey Arbone is making profits as well, unless they are giving their product away for free!

I'm sorry, I didn't know I was only addressing you. If you are were aware of high grade natural progesterone cream and have ACTUALLY tried it long enough to see results then don't let my comment bother you too much :D
Plenty of women with horribly painful endometr have used Arbonne's prog. cream and are very happy with the results. You should read some of Dr. John Lee's medical literature, oh, but I'm sure you already know about him, sweetie :P

Meaghan,

"And...I agree with Dr. Wifey Arbone is making profits as well, unless they are giving their product away for free!"

If a product helps women, I see no problem with selling it at a reasonable price. For the amount of high grade ingredients in Arbonne's Progesterone Cream, they are practically giving it away for free. If you become a consultant you can get it at even more of a discounted price. If you've never heard of Arbonne don't knock it till you try it. It not only helps women, but teenage girls, and MEN, yes, men. It helps balance out men's hormones, too, which can in turn save them from getting Prostate cancer.

If you actually understood that hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies were only out to gain profits from your sickness and illnesses then you would understand my comment. Big corporations don't care about you, they care about the $money$.

How come they never talk about "prevention?" I'll tell you! They won't make any money off of you if you prevent yourself from getting cancer!

LG,

Do you work Arbonne?

I have to disagree, there's a company making HUGE money off if a little vaccine that is said to prevent cervical cancer. Preventing CC would eliminate the need for a major portion of hysters.

I also don't believe my hyster (at age 28-no children) was related to anyone making money off of it. I believe it was used as a means to SAVE MY LIFE. If some company got rich so that I could have the rest of my life...so be it. May they be the richest company in the world!

As for the "don't knock it till you try it" comment...yaaaa, I had a crack head say that to me once too.

See, it's a good thing that I didn't read this until AFTER the surgery was done, because I would have been totally sucked into that while at work.

And we just got told in our team meeting today that we need to not use any "live streaming" radio or video as it slows down the server.

I would have so been busted.

Ok, whomever this LG is, it's just irritating to do something like that on someone's blog. One dumb comment is enough. This person obviously doesn't like the fact that women have the right to choose what happens to them and their bodies by themselves.

Meaghan, I have always enjoyed your blog and the openess that you have. Especially when trying to educate people. I give you PROPS!!

Hi Meaghan!
i did watch the procedure yesterday, or at least parts of it. surprisingly i did not get sick!

sorry if i caused a little commotion with my comment back to LG. i thought it was a tacky comment that generalizes all women based on her own beliefs.

hope you have great day!

Thank you for posting this. I had a complete hysterectomy 9/22 and this was very informative even after the fact. I am also a cancer survivor. This surgery was the best choice for me.
